Marina Kuderova, AMFT

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I also work with people adjusting to new environments, including immigrants, and those exploring questions of identity and belonging. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles.

Having gone through my own immigration journey, I understand how complicated it can be to begin again in a new place - to navigate loss and uncertainty while also creating a new sense of home and possibility. This perspective informs my work with people who are navigating change, displacement, or questions about where they belong. I also provide therapy in Russian.

My work draws primarily from psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches. I have trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps us understand emotional needs and the ways they shape our relationships. I am also currently training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a somatic approach that helps us pay attention to how experiences are held in the body, particularly when they are difficult to put into words. In my work with clients, I have found the body to be a valuable resource for recognizing what is happening within us and for developing a fuller understanding of ourselves.

In therapy, we may examine recurring ways of responding, the emotions underneath them, and the ways earlier experiences continue to influence your present life. My role is to help you develop a clearer sense of what is happening, make choices with greater awareness, and create space for what feels meaningful, alive, and true to you.
