Alina Morton, AMFT
Hi! My name is Alina, and I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#158832). I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Seattle University and my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s daytime program. I’ve been fortunate to practice in a variety of settings that have shaped the way I show up as a therapist. During my time in Seattle, I served as a case management intern at The Genesis Project, supporting women who are survivors of sex trafficking. As a graduate student, I worked as a therapist trainee in the Conejo Valley Unified School District, providing care to children and adolescents. I also have experience in a private practice setting specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am DBT-trained and a Certified Trauma Specialist through the Arizona Trauma Institute. As a Filipina-American clinician, I bring a multicultural lens into the therapy space. I believe we are not separate from our culture, communities, or the systems we’re a part of, and I strive to create a space where those experiences are acknowledged, explored, and honored. My approach blends DBT with a person-centered and relational style. I care deeply about building strong rapport with my clients and creating a space that feels both safe and genuine. I also believe there is room for humor in the therapy process — as a way to connect, bring relief, and make the work feel more human. My goal is to support clients in understanding who they are and where they’ve been, while helping them move toward where they want to go and who they want to become.
